Food Strong allows youth leadership to emerge through hands-on gardening, cooking, art and music programs. I've seen students grow in their own health and wellness at home and in the community!

Food Strong's ability to establish a sense of community during unprecedented times is unmatched. This nonprofit lives up to their mission of empowerment through fresh, local foods with their unwavering support of wellness education and their continuous strive to implement gardening skills in students. The skills Food Strong applies serve families with life long lessons including: the ability to grow and harvest organic foods, the vitality of healthy diet, how to prepare health meals, and basic business education for students through selling their products at the Cost Road Farmers Market. During COVID specifically, Food Strong has prioritized social and emotional interaction while ensuring the safety of those present with masks, sanitation, social distancing, and PPE material. We are so fortunate to have such a sustainable mission that will serve the community for countless years in the future!

Food Strong has been an extremely valuable partner with the Coit Road Farmers Market bringing education and enthusiasm to the project and helping the market connect to resources and the community.
