“Happened to be on the West Side and was looking for a meatless lunch. I saw that this place had a five star rating and thought I’d give it a try! I was not disappointed. I got rice with peas, a small salad, beans, and mangu (smashed plantains). It was my first time having Dominican food and I will say that everything was delicious. I added a cilantro sauce and a sauce labeled pique (super spicy but full of flavor) on top of the dish. This was all based on the suggestion of the very nice young man who waited on me. He also suggested a pineapple juice drink, and it was probably one of the best juice drinks I have ever had. I don’t remember the name of it, but he said the translation of it meant pineapple and pear, although it had no pear in it. Rice and peas 5/5 super flavorful and moist Salad 4/5 simple and good Mangu 4/5 a touch bland however with the onions, sauce, and beans with it, so tasty also great texture Pinto beans 5/5 some of the best I’ve had super flavorful I’d definitely return the food was great!”
