“I would have rated VAD five stars and not four, but unfortunately in 2025 the district made the misguided decision to close the market hall’s indoor stage and seating area in order to expand the adjoining retail space. This change deprived the community of an invaluable “third space” that served as an open but contained play area in which children could frolic and blow off steam during the long winter months in NE Ohio. I used to go to VAD with my young kids nearly every weekend to consume good food and drink while the kids played nearby safely. I find I have visited VAD far less since the decision was made to eliminate this simple but important public area in favor of expanding a basic and decidedly NOT kid friendly retail space.”
