What Visitors Say
“People say this bowling alley offers a fun experience with smooth lanes and a variety of games, including pool and arcade games. They also highlight the unlimited bowling deals, the clean and spacious building, and the helpful staff. Some reviews mention there can be scoring issues with the lanes.”
Stopped in at AMF North Ridgeville Lanes and had a mixed experience. The food counter was out of fries, which is totally fine — but instead of just saying “we’re out of fries, we have tots,” the staff seemed genuinely confused about how to ring up nonexistent fries. There was visible confusion with the POS system and logging in, which made a simple order feel weirdly cryptic and drawn out. That said, the chicken strips (4 pretty meager pieces) and the tots were actually good. Still, after spending about $15 on chicken and potatoes plus a $3 tip, I was left hungry, which isn’t great value. I probably would’ve played some games if it weren’t for the convoluted token/card system. It’s clearly designed so you buy a plastic card with 2 tokens per dollar, 20 tokens for $10, while games cost 3 or 6 tokens — almost guaranteeing you leave money stranded on the card. Just let people tap a credit card per game. This setup feels less “arcade fun” and more like nickel-and-diming customers to dodge card fees. The arcade itself is exactly what you remember: basketball, skee-ball, even beer pong (odd choice for a kid-focused arcade), all rewarding tickets you can trade for the same cheap trinkets we all grew up with — just with extra steps because, again, tokens. On the positive side, the main seating area was clean, and I really appreciated that they offer bumpers and aiming assist tools for kids and bowlers with varying disabilities. That part was genuinely well thought out. Overall: clean lanes and inclusive bowling options, decent food quality, but confusing service at the counter and an arcade system that feels intentionally customer-hostile.
2 months agoOn the afternoon of October 24th, my son & his 2 friends went bowling at the AMF in N. Ridgeville. The employee, Melissa, was amazing -- she made our experience lots of fun!!! She was kind to the kids & even gave them Halloween plushies 🧛♂️. I would recommend bowling here + the lighting was extra cool during our bowling games. Our time bowling & at the arcade ROCKED 🎸 ‼️
4 months agoTook my son for a playdate with his friend and had a very unsatisfactory experience. I haven't been bowling in awhile and I didnt realize they're charging per person per game now so 3 games cost us just over $100. They were extremely understaffed on a saturday afternoon with 1 person working the front desk and also trying to manage the food and bar. Another person was cooking and the last person was at the pro shop. Lines were long but the woman was doing the best she could. Although she did her best which I appreciate I was very unsatisfied with how expensive bowling has become and will not be going back.
a week agoNewly painted and redone! Always check Groupon first for a deal. Arcade with ski ball and machines for kids. Leagues galore. Plenty of lanes and bumpers. A good time for all!
a week agoVery well staffed, staff is always helpful, food is decently consistent for a bowling alley especially. Places is typically pretty clean. Only issue we have ever had was the lanes need some maintenance. Every lane we get put on (somewhat frequent there for practice) has scoring issues, the pick up knocks pins down. The gate somehow goes over pins and leaves them etc. The camera doesnt read accurately and will give you pins when you got a gutter, not give you all the pins you got etc. This isnt just a single lane but has been at least 7 different lanes we have gotten put on. Its not every game but enough it needs addressed. I will say they do seem to keep league bowlers on the same lanes so maybe those lanes arent as bad, I am not on a league at this facility. Pricing has gotten much better. They have unlimited bowling multiple nights for $17 which is a steal for 5 hours of unlimited bowling. Overall solid bowling alley, a lot of lanes which makes it so there is typically lanes available. Like I said its clean, well staffed (which is rare these days especially) and they are all polite. I will obviously continue to return for practice
