Burning River Adventures: Cleveland Services Guide

By far the most easy going kayaking experience I’ve been on. We were carried by a calm, slow current. It gave us more time to sit back and enjoy the peace, quiet, and beauty of the river. Super friendly and hardworking staff! I will be returning!

Today we rented a raft to cruise down the Cuyahoga River. The staff helped fit my 4 kids in life jackets and had waterproof cell phone bags. They did all the heavy lifting and handed out oars. The safety briefing was short and sweet. At the end point the company was waiting for us to grab all of the equipment and pull us out of the water. Todays float was a great experience and an amazing first time out on the water for my kids.

I’ve wanted to kayak on the Cuyahoga River for several years now and finally got the chance last Thursday. Even though I showed up without a reservation, the staff were great and worked me in. (The weather forecast for the afternoon had originally called for thunderstorms but they never appeared and it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon.) I did the 4.5 mile “middle” trip. It took almost exactly two hours from where the put in was without any strenuous paddling. The Cuyahoga and its surroundings were beautiful! I saw plenty of turtles, ducks geese and a couple of blue herons! There were two short stretches that I suppose you could call mild “rapids,” but they actually made it even a bit more fun! I’m already looking forward to coming back again and would highly recommend Burning River Adventures.

Great place to spend sone time cooling off in the heat of summer I did the 6.5mile kayak trip down the cuyhoga river.lots of wild life and scenery to enjoy ! Highly recommend!

Our Girl Scout troop of 8-9 year olds had a wonderful experience with Paddle the River Cuyahoga Valley Adventure Akron location. Mo, the owner, took the time to teach everyone paddle techniques (pictured). We trusted that Mo has kids and knew what would keep our families safe and help them grow as adventurous nature lovers. Highly recommend their services for introducing youth to kayaking. The adults loved it as well! My daughter is already asking when we can go again.
