What Visitors Say
The curriculum sucks here, no sense of artistic individuality. I went here in August 2017 and withdrew in November 2017. I both learned and made more Artwork worth selling/keeping in highschool than I ever did at this college. I purchased all required materials for the school year, yet every week in several classes I was being told to purchase more. Waste of my money and time. We barely even used any of the supplies from the huge supply list. And then the former Financial Director Caprice Odom misled me by saying I didn’t owe anything back financially after withdrawing from the school. 1 year later I began receiving letters from barrel court granite state which at the time I had no idea was my student loan servicer. Nor was I aware I owed about $4,000. This is something that should have been gone over throughly in my withdrawal exit counseling with Mr.Odom. He also neglected to provide me the information on how to get my transcripts. I would not recommend this school to even the brightest Art student.
2 months agoHorrible hours for the mailroom. I really wish it wasn’t closed ALL the time.
3 months agoBeautiful location, with a lot of careful planning gone into projection and sound. The selection of films from the past and around the world opens a lot of doors to you in terms of film as art and expression. I particularly enjoy their showings of cult classics around certain seasons, themes, or directors. Now, to explain the 4 stars. I understand this is an educational institution first, not an entertainment venue, but it wouldn't be a fair review if I didn't give my honest opinion. First, the seats are torturous. I'm a tall guy, the only other place that is so uncomfortable to physically exist in is an airplane. Lastly, no concessions that I'm aware of. Again, I know it's not that kind of a theater, but it would be nice. Especially if I could get a beer to numb the pain of those seats.
8 years agoThis is the BEST place in Cleveland to go see classic, foreign, and cult movies. The theater shows projections digitally and on 35mm film. Just check their schedule and it will say if it's on film. The theater has a strict no cell phone policy, so please be respectful because some people (me) like to watch a piece of art uninterrupted. They often have have different series of films. For instance, they just finished a series on the films of Jodorowsky, which I was fortunate enough to see 3 of. To save myself from rambling, go see movies here and, if you can, become a member.
8 years agoAfter purchasing tickets online they then made us exchange them at the ticket counter so we could be registered for a $5 gift card. Very annoying. Security girl was worthless. She sat behind a counter and played a game on her phone the entire time. I don't think she ever looked up. Theater was clean, comfortable, and good leg room in the lower seating area. Well maintained restrooms.
