Great Lakes Mall: Cleveland Shopping Mall Guide

Somehow Great Lakes Mall continues to escape obsolescence and lives to purvey another day. Every time I visit, I'm prepared to see it on its last legs. There are signs; the Macy's Closed, Sears has been closed for a long time. The food court has very few chains and high turnover. Lots of storefronts are vacant. But there are some high-value shops. Round 1 makes a great anchor that brings in a ton of business, and a lot of the independent businesses are pretty interesting. The mall has changed a lot over the years, but credit to the operators. In 2026 it's still a decent shopping center that has a good amount of life.

With all the malls closing around the country I am happy to see this one still kicking. Not as full as it once was they do have at least 85-90% occupancy and the day I was there it was doing well. It was a weekday during the school year.

If there’s a maintenance department for the Great Lakes Mall, they either need to be retrained or replaced. The northwest mall entrance is disgustingly dirty. Loaded with cigarette butts and banana peels and…… You name it. It’s a shame that this mall was once a caliber shopping experience.

It was very clean and everyone was very polite and welcoming. A variety of shop and booths. I generally shop at JCPenney s where they are always willing to help and are welcoming. The prices and sales are the best!

Lots to do here for the family besides the usual mall shopping! Play area for youngsters, carousel, food court, sit down restaurants, movie theater, attractions, kiddy rides, photo booths, bowling, and etc. You can spend a whole day here and not go through all the shops, and do everything. Plenty of parking. There’s also a golfing, driving the ball (what’s that term called?). Next time I come here maybe I’ll go bowling, or go golfing that’s nearby, or maybe have dinner and a movie! 😁
