This is a great state park that is home to Ohio's largest beach. It is also a natural beach. The park also has trails, paved walking paths, restrooms, shelter houses, playground equipment, plenty of parking and of course the beach and scenic views of Lake Erie.
3 months agoMy self and my family have been coming here for years. Best local beach around poloint blank period. What an amazing place in the winter aswell
a month agoNice beach seems to be pretty clean. Not too crowded around 4.I found 2 pieces of clear sea glass. I plan on going back early in the morning and spend a little more time to try to find more. Would recommend for a nice place to relax and enjoy some sun.
4 months agoWe had a great beach day here. We live near Presque isle but we like to check out all the beaches up and down the coast of Lake Erie. This was about 1.5hrs from Presque Isle. It’s very similar, with picnic areas, beaches and bathhouses/bathrooms. They did not have a concession stand at the beach anymore, but they did have a food truck. We took the walk to the lighthouse. It took longer than expected but we didn’t mind. It was a nice walk with wild areas of native grasses and flowers. Some areas were roped off for nesting birds. You can’t go in the light house and they do not offer tours like ours does in Erie. Would have been nice to walk out on the pier but that was gated off. I watched people jump the fence and go out there but we weren’t going to do that. All in all, I love beach days no matter where they are so I was quite pleased with the park and beaches that day. (Went in August)
5 months agoWe hiked out to the lighthouse with our toddlers. There's were lots of spots to take a break in the shade and it was absolutely beautiful! Then we walked back and enjoyed looking for rocks on the beach! It wasn't very crowded even though we visited on a Saturday.
