This garden is beautiful and represents the Irish culture well. I love the sidewalk pavements. Look down the garden and you will see it forms a cross. Well maintained plants. Beautiful flowers and fountain. Wish the statues stated why these individuals were chosen to represent the best of the Irish culture.
2 years agoLet me explain this to the cultural gardens in general. This is a lovely walk down. MLK boulevard with multiple gardens from most of the ethnic groups that have immigrated to Cleveland. It is a great bike ride. Most of the gardens highlight famous people of that ethnic group. Have your cell phone handy so you can educate yourself about the great things these people did. It is a unique place in Cleveland and I'm fact, I have not seen this in other cities. A hidden gem in plain sight.
6 months agoGreat! If parking, park on East Boulevard! Easy to access from there. Also - download the CleHistorical app. It includes info - pictures and audios - on the various gardens. No audio for Irish Cultural Garden, but still cool. Can’t wait to go back when the weather warms up.
2 years agoJust before arriving at the Irish Cultural Gardens, Doan Brook is renamed "Cleveland's Own Shannon River". The garden threshold dates from the dedication of the garden in 1939. The plinths ringing the garden celebrate the greats of Irish Literature.
