a month agoPhenomenal scenery, very accessible trailhead, almost too nice to believe. Have wanted to visit Cuyahoga National Park for years but wasn't sure where the best views and reasonable hiking trails were, for a family outing. This is the place. Short loop but so many places to explore at every corner. I recommend taking connector at the 3:00 spot on the map, then following the outer loop counter-clockwise, for the 2-3 mile hike. We spent nearly four hours exploring, but it's easily done in an hour or so if you only wanted to see it all on a relatively easy walk.
6 months agoI really enjoyed this hike. Go to the overlook, it is an easy walk. Then turn around and go find the ice box cave. That’s a great hike! There are quite a few different trails you can hike so I recommend you bring water and if you plan on doing an all dayer- bring something to eat. There’s plenty of parking, a restroom by the parking lot, and the main trails are pretty accessible. Icebox trail does require some agility but it’s SO WORTH it!!
5 months agoVery beautiful and scenic trail. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is full of so many good trails and this is one of them my favorites. It’s nice and cool in the shade of the trees and helps when it’s a hotter day. The ledges are everywhere and the scenic look out is a must stop especially around sunset. There is a large field for activities and a pavilion with a grill.
6 months agoLarge paved parking lot. Monday morning so few people to deal with. Trail in excellent condition though the gnats were a little annoying. Highly rated but actually like the Pine Grove Trail more. This had great rock formations, the view overlook was nothing much plus the haze today and you have stairs, roots and rocks to deal with if that is something you don’t like. But all in all, an excellent hike.
