What Visitors Say
I’ve skated at North Park Ice arena almost every day this entire winter, and unfortunately this experience will probably make me not come back next year. I’ve been filming my skating progress all season. Not once has anyone told me that filming wasn’t allowed. People film their kids here all the time during lessons, hockey games, and public skate sessions or recitals if any . Suddenly an employee I’ve never seen before told me I couldn’t film which felt really inconsistent with how things have always been handled. They literally have 133 public video/photo post from reviews but no videos aloud!! Second, the same employee kept skating past me while I was sitting on the benches right behind the rink doors loosening my laces because my feet were hurting. She passed me multiple times without saying anything, then finally told me I couldn’t sit there and had to move. If that’s a rule, why not say it the first time instead of letting someone sit there for several minutes and then stopping asking me to move after my skates are off? Also please no, in the photo where the kid is literally jumping over the ledge, and I watched mine to her video and nothing was said to them. The whole interaction just felt unnecessary and honestly pretty uncomfortable and petty. I’ve spent a lot of time and money skating here this winter and really enjoyed it, but the inconsistency and attitude I experienced yesterday left a bad impression. I hope management clarifies their policies so regular skaters and visitors know what’s actually allowed. I felt singled out and disrespected. You can’t go anywhere today without being on cctv — it’s my right to film and I don’t need your permission. I’d love to see where in your handbook it says no taking videos. Because I’m honestly quite positive people filming their kids playing hockey games all the time! You can’t pick and choose who to make rules for
in the last weekReally like the ice skating rink. Kids have fun and concession is reasonably priced. However it says $3 for homeschool skate and $3 for rental. Today the lady charged us $8 and said that has been the price all season even though we have never paid that price before. So FYI prices on website are not correct
2 months agoPlayed here back when it had no roof and they would have shovel snow off the ice. The real ice hockey days. Really a nice rink with clean locker/changing areas, staff on multiple occasions have been very helpful, and so far my kids are enjoying their first beginner hockey sessions. Supportive coaches and a well run operation from what I can see so far.
4 months agoWhether it’s the swimming pool, the skating rink is always fun safe time. It’s a great place to have a kids party or a family outing. I personally done both. My kids have absolutely loved it, ages range from two years old to 20 years old!
3 months agoOverall it is a great location, but need some improvements. Parking is ok but when there Are multiple events it is a challenge to find parking. The "outdoor" ice rink should be enclosed, there is humidity issues especially when when the outdoor temp is 80+ in October.
