What Visitors Say
“People say this collectibles store offers a wide selection of Pokemon cards, singles, and packs, as well as other trading card games, models, and unique snacks. They highlight the fair prices, the welcoming and friendly vibe, and the passionate and helpful staff. They also like the organized layout and the availability of tables for playing games.”
The Geek Peek has singlehandedly been the HUGE reason why we, as an entire family, have taken up playing Pokémon. Not only is the staff always welcoming and knowledgeable, but the community that they have built is like no other. Going to plenty of other card shops in the area we have experienced other shop workers belittle our son, who is 9, act like we are a nuisance by simply shopping, and quite honestly be sexist towards me personally. Never do I have to worry that my son will be treated disrespectfully or that I, as a woman, will be talked down to at Geek Peek. The work that Mikey and Jill put into their shop is evident in the community they have worked hard to build. Thank you for being our home away from home. For making us feel comfortable and safe and seen and appreciated. For letting us have a safe space to let our nerdy flags fly high. You guys are wonderful. Running a business is NOT easy and it is not for the faint of heart. But you are building something wonderful. We love you guys 🖤 For anyone reading this review who is a parent...please do not hesitate on letting your kids get into a TCG. Especially with a wonderful shop like this.
2 weeks agoThe store is filthy. Owner is rude and doesnt know how to talk to customers. I asked if they planned to carry singles in their store for the new set if riftbound, they simply gave a long winded explanation about product. I told them ive been in the community for over 30 years not meaning they do anything wrong meaning understand and they dont need to be demeaning to people. They got offended and out burst in violent manners with words, so I defended myself. The store claims they have a rewards program for discounts. Not once have I seen it advertised or mentioned every time I was in there. I was a regular for a couple months every Sunday, the owner cant even be bothered to talk to people. Prices are above msrp, or they sell products on tcg prior. You dont get respect from me because you dont deserve it, it was never earned, your store is trash, you are trash and need mental help. I will continue to tell people to not go to your store, being in the communities for 30 years you meet alot of people. You referring to me as captain expierence shows how narrow minded you are. Again I asked if you had singles. No? ok are you going to do pack prize support for events, not additional. I wasn't asking if you were giving stuff away, I wouldnt dare want to cut into you above msrp profits, no would have been fine as well but instead of being normal and saying no you go on a long tangent not understanding your employees communicated it may be a possibility in the future showing you have little to no organization. You admitted you cant handle noise you own a shop... its retail people will be in and out. The expierence is ive been to many stores and every store does stuff different, its why i asked those questions, you are the one that got offended and butt hurt and lashed out as others have stated you and your shop are not liked in the community. I dont care for you, or your opinion, no respect you as a shop or as a person. Also saying oh ive been around several years meaning ive seen stores come and go, never said you did anything wrong. You are better off just saying to customers though maybe that have an issue talking to them instead of thinking you know what they mean because you clearly dont, I never had a problem till you started misunderstanding and acting like a crazy entitled shop.owner, but apparently thats your nature. You'll post some long winded reply, that says im entitled or something which if I felt that way I would have kept going there and pushing issues, I stopped back in November when you became an pos for someone asking about tournament structure again its the way you present yourself as a person as a store. But I was wrong because you sound like youve always been one. Ive never had a pleasant expierence at your shop any time ive ever been there. Not once. 30 years of expierence ...weighs alot over 2 years of angry outburst. Many stores are in the Cleveland area and many are crap and not worth going to and now you are one of them. The photo shows this store charges above msrp as advetised. There are plenty of good stores in the area such as refuge gaming, recess games, Shufflers den, kidforce Collectibles, gotz alot of games, customers do yourself a favor and dont go to this one. Grats enjoy your prize pack.
3 weeks agoThis shop is super cute and fun to go to! I go in with my friends sometimes and have always felt very welcomed by the staff and customers despite not being a regular. I think they have fair prices for their products. I recommend checking this shop out if you are a nerd like me!
a week agoThe review about this place being cluttered and narrow was quite odd. This is exactly how this sort of shop should be; a place full of treasures that requires love and patience to fully appreciate and rewards exploration. I live down the block and they've been a great addition to what used to be a very sleepy part of Cleveland but what in recent years is turning into one of the city's more interesting and funky neighborhoods.
a month agoI absolutely love my visits to this shop! I've been collecting cards since I was very young and they have an amazing selection to choose from. Every time I've been in there the staff and other customers have been extremely welcoming and friendly to me as well. I highly recommend this place for indulging in your hobbies, there's something for everyone 💜
